ABOUT ME

Amanda’s passion is working with horses and the riders who love them. Her mission is to inspire clients to reach their highest potential and achieve their personal goals. She promotes learning and showing in a fun, safe environment that is respectful of the welfare of both horse and rider. If you are looking to compete at a higher level, need help setting personal goals, or have a horse that needs rehab, she can help. She welcomes all ages and skill levels.

Amanda has been teaching, training, and competing internationally and domestically in the sport for over 25 years. Her international experiences took her from her native New Zealand to Ireland, Scotland, Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, and Japan. She has notably worked and ridden for Edwina Tops-Alexander, Ludo Philippaerts, and Neil Jones. Many of the horses she put foundational training on in Europe went on to compete in international Show Jumping rings. In Europe and the United States, she competed up to 1.30m in Show Jumping and for Eventing, she has competed up to Novice in New Zealand and Training in the United States. She currently has her USDF Bronze medal and is working on attaining her USDF Silver medal.

For the past 15 years, Amanda has been building her knowledge, experience, and business in the United States. At the end of 2018, she founded AEF Training in Clovis, California. Her offered services coincide with her true passions in the equestrian industry; rehabilitating horses, bringing along young horses, horse sales, along with helping clients find their perfect match and growing with them.

Rehabilitation in horses can be a slow process and takes a keen eye to evaluate progress at home and communicate effectively with the veterinarian and client. She specializes in developing an individual action plan to increase the odds of a positive outcome. She has brought many rehab horses back into competitive form, and many went on to be sold and have successful careers.
